Entertainer Karina Naime is Making the Most of Whatever Life Gives Her

“The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others.” – Albert Schweitzer

Karina Naime.

What do you do & what inspires you to do it:

As a young professional and independent woman, I have been in sales majority of my life…working hard and paying bills. But my passion, what drives my soul to swell with joy, is modeling, singing and dancing. I come alive in front of a camera. Every part of my personality shines through. You can feel my emotions through the photos without having to read the caption. It is my hobby, a part of me that makes me feel whole.

How do you define success:

Success is not the amount of items you have or the cars you drive. Success is waking up every day and being completely happy doing what you’re doing. To find your calling is truly a blessing. As a millennial, it is difficult to figure out what you want to do the rest of your life. There are so many ups and down, so many options and tremendous competition. Uncertainty is normal. Stress and worry are normal. But it shouldn’t have to be. Following your dreams, being happy with the person you are…that is success.

What would you say to motivate a younger you to be successful in life:

There is only one of you in this world and no one can equal you. Do not be afraid to be different and do not be afraid to ask for help. Connect with people that do what you want to do. And if that doesn’t work, keep connecting. There is someone out there that wants to help you. You just have to find them.

Are you doing now what you’ve always wanted to do or did you have other aspirations previously:

I am not doing what I’ve always wanted to do and as I get older, I become more desperate to follow my dreams which is to create music, become an entertainer, perform on stage, model for professional companies, and dance. I have a lot more experience and connections now than I did when I was younger. There is no deadline by when I should accomplish anything. All that matters is that I am moving my feet now and making it happen.

What’s the best business or personal advice you’ve ever received:

The best advice I’ve ever received is to not sleep on your dreams and never forget your why. Why are you doing what you’re doing? Why does it motivate you and move you like no other? The reason behind your actions is your bow and arrow to launch you off your feet.

What’s something people would be surprised to know about you:

I am Middle Eastern and Latina. My grandparents were born in Lebanon and my parents were born in Venezuela, thus teaching me three different languages: English, Spanish and Arabic. I love speaking three different languages. I’ve grown up with music from almost every part of the world. That is why I love dancing so much, especially belly dancing!

Do you believe in a higher power:

I am not a religious person, but I do believe in a higher power. There is more to this life than just us. Invisible forces we cannot see but feel within our souls. Your relationship with God or whatever higher power you believe in, is yours and yours alone. No one can take that from you.

What’s something you can’t live without:

That is definitely a loaded question because there are quite a few things I can’t live without. I would say the number one thing I cannot be without is my family (that includes my pets). Regardless of our middle eastern background and strict culture, my parents and siblings support my dreams.

Where do you see yourself in 3 years:

To be quite honest, I have no idea. Life is so short. I cannot even tell you where I will be tomorrow. Where I hope to be in three years if I am granted life in the years to come, is on stage at Coachella or a sick festival, singing and dancing my heart out. I see myself being interviewed for magazines and being invited to do motivational speeches. I see myself providing for my family and helping strangers get to where they want to be. I believe in paying it forward because the times I needed help by friends I thought would help me, I didn’t get the help.

Single or taken:

Well as of now, I am definitely single. Not to say I don’t have a crush because I do. Time will tell where that spark goes.

How many tattoos do you have:

I have 9 tattoos and they are fairly big! Down the sides of my legs, on my chest (like a Rihanna tattoo), my back, my shoulder, and my left arm.

Name a Song you like and Artist:

Such a tough question! Lately I cannot get enough of Khalid’s album, Suncity. My favorite song on that album is in fact Suncity. Total fan girl; would love to meet him.

Name a movie you like:

A Star is Born because who doesn’t LOVE that movie!

What do you like to do for fun:

I love discovering new restaurants, bars and cafes. Traveling is one of my favorite hobbies. This summer I hope to go back to Lebanon where they have my favorite restaurants and hookah bars.

Where can we find you online:

Find me on Instagram! That is where I am the most active. Add ya girl @kari_naime

What’s next for you:

This is it for me — living life, enjoying every little moment I am granted. Traveling. Dancing. Singing. Modeling. Working hard to make ends meet. Maybe finding the love of my life. Who knows? Whatever life gives me, I will take it!
