This week’s #WomanCrushWednesday honors go to graphic designer, podcaster, and writer, Yessenia The Great Diaz.
Yessenia (The Great) Diaz.
What do you do and what inspired you to do it:
I run Tru.Works, a small media company that shares others’ stories for anyone across the internet to learn from, experience, and to know that they’re not alone. I began this journey this year and it has grown into something positive and wonderful and I’m excited for Tru.Works’ future!
How do you define success:
Success is whatever you want it to be. Success to me is owning my one business and having it fulfill its purpose while supporting me and my family. Success is not depending on anyone for anything and being free and having freedom to do whatever or go wherever you want.
What would you say to motivate a younger you to be successful in life:
I wanted to be successful in my life when I got tired of being broke. I was tired of someone else telling me what to do and I was tired of spending my valuable time at different places that didn’t mean anything to me. I wanted my life to be my own, and I was angry enough to go for it and risk it all to make my life my own.
Name a song you like and the artist:
I love L’Arc~en~Ciel’s, Flood of Tears no matter how old it is!
Name a movie you like:
My favorite movie right now is Wonder Woman but my favorite movie of all time is Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away.
What do you like to do for fun:
I enjoy learning Japanese, kickboxing, and lifting weights and doing cardio workouts at the gym and of course, eating different kinds of foods.
