Comicpalooza is fast approaching here in Houston, Texas and soon our downtown streets will be filled with cosplay hobbyists and loyalists attending one of the city’s largest conventions. If you’ve never heard of cosplay; you may think you’ve seen some creative costumes during Halloween, but let’s just say cosplay is on a completely different level! This fascinating activity and culture is what brought me to today’s Dirty South Club spotlight, Kika.
Kika loves modeling, especially cosplay modeling. As a matter of fact, it was seeing her in costume as Negan from The Walking Dead that caught my attention. Never in a million years did I think I would get sucked into the world of zombies, that is The Walking Dead, yet here I am and there’s nothing like connecting with people who share in the same interests as you.
I asked Kika if she would take a moment to share a little motivation and wisdom with us here at the club and top it off with what she loves about the Dirty South. Read on as she talks success, advice on how to understand what’s better for you and her plans to help people regain control of their lives.
What’s your name and what part of the Dirty South are you representing:
Kika, representing Austin, Texas — 512!
What do you do and what inspired you to do it:
Currently I’m a full time student, part time model and dog groomer. I’ve been inspired to return to school to seek knowledge on a more fulfilling career that will help people regain physical control of their body and their minds. Seeing the lack of therapists within our community motivates me. As for modeling, it’s strictly an enjoyment job. I love modeling, especially cosplay.

Best business advice that was given to me years ago would be to keep my personal life separate as much as possible.

Be open minded and seek knowledge and truths. Make mistakes, that’s how you’ll know and understand what is better for you.

My plans in the future are to continue my education to a doctorate degree and build many cosplays.
