Painting the Soundtracks of Life with Artist Scarlet

In today’s Dirty South Club spotlight we give a little bit of shine to artist Scarlet. When I first learned of Scarlet I was positive she was a model and this is why they say never judge a book by its cover! Yes she’s absolutely beautiful and can strike the dopest pose like the best, yet the truth is, she’s an incredible artist who loves art & music! Read on as she gives us a little motivation, a little bit about herself and what she loves about the Dirty South!

What’s your name and where are you from:

Scarlet and I am from Houston, Texas (Cuban/Mexican).

What do you do and what inspired you to do it:

I am an artist and I have always loved art.  It is a way for me to express different emotions and thoughts while I listen to my second love of music. 🙂

Best business or personal advice you’ve ever received:

Don’t wait for it, ask for it!

What do you like to do for fun:

I am very outgoing and a tomboy at heart, so any competitive games at Dave and Buster’s, anything that makes me laugh and of course can’t go wrong with the Beach.

Any words of advice or encouragement for those who wish to follow in your footsteps:

Don’t get discouraged and continue to make the pieces that come from you, if they sell wonderful, but if they don’t continue to do what pleases you and makes you happy.  Don’t cater to an audience, be yourself.

What’s next for you or what are you working on that we can look out for:

I will have an upcoming out of state show at the end of the year that I am excited about in L.A.

What do you love most about the South:

All the different types of FOOD!
