If you’ve ever watched an episode of the long running television series How it’s Made you would more than likely agree with me that you can see how some of everything from hand-crafted to factory-made products are created. Recently I watched an episode on how leather wallets are made and watching this episode really opened my eyes to the detailed process of crafting these handy and fashionable pieces we use to carry around pocket cash, credit cards, family pictures and whatever else we can fit in them.
Today we take a moment to shine the Dirty South Club spotlight on David Gonzalez and his company Gonzalez Handmade.
David is highly aware of the process of crafting wallets and other leather goods and he’s dedicated to crafting some of the highest quality handmade products made from some of the best materials made available. As a one man operation, Gonzalez Handmade is not your average leather goods company.
David not only crafts his pieces from high quality materials, he also allows his creativity to run wild with the items he makes. You can get items such as beard comb sleeves, flask sleeves, leather stitched bracelets and the list goes on, but the one item I have my eyes on is the Slip. The Slip (see picture below) is a very slim and minimalist wallet that has some stretch so it’ll fit a few cards or some cards and a little bit of cash which is about all I need because I am definitely the minimalist type.
David took some time to let us get to know a little more about him in Dirty South Club fashion. Read on as he shares with us the best advice he’s ever received and what he loves about the Dirty South. When you are done I invite you to go on over to GonzalezHandmade.com and take a look around at some of the unique items that David has to offer for both men and women.
